Today, children are growing up in a world flooded with television, phones, and video games.

This predisposes to an indoor and sedentary lifestyle, as opposed to a more outdoor, and active lifestyle. Concurrently, there is a lot of direct and subliminal advertising aimed at children, further moulding and solidifying unhealthy food and lifestyle choices that are carried into adulthood. These, amongst other factors have contributed to the increase in child obesity observed in South Africa and globally.

Evidence has shown that there is a relationship between obesity and mental health, even at their organic states. For our young and impressionable children and teenagers, this is further reinforced by airbrushed fitness and beauty standards that are impossible to conform to. The subsequent body image difficulties further feed mental health issues, which may give rise to emotional eating, resulting in a vicious cycle.

Our interventions aim at highlighting all the issues to create awareness and conscious decision making. We do our best to build up our children to live healthier lives through activity, nutrition and choice consciousness, allowing them to be healthy and fit physically, emotionally and mentally. Above all to be happy with themselves.
